Job Title: Bartender
Department: Café Front of House
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Reports to: Maryrose Cioci

Job Summary: Provide exceptional service to customers while creating and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients.  Maintain cleanliness and ensure the bar is stocked, organized, and clutter-free.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons. Greet and serve patrons in a positive and friendly manner using enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times.
  • Check identification of patrons to verify age requirements for consumption of alcohol.
  • Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks according to Crazy Daisies recipes for customers.
  • Help guests to be aware of and choose menu items, take orders as needed, and make customers feel taken care of during their visit at Crazy Daisies.
  • Prep necessary garnishes, simple syrups, lemonades, etc.
  • Keep the bar stocked and clean while always providing friendly and attentive service.
  • Adhere to Crazy Daisies & NYS standards for serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Ensure a customer is receiving the correct order.
  • Double-check the order before it goes to a customer.
  • Answer any questions from customers.
  • Replenish napkins, straws, silverware, etc. as needed.
  • Open & Close the bar.
  •  Bussing any and all tables & areas of the property during entire shift.

Supervisory Responsibilities: The bartender does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualification Standards:

  • Previous bartending experience helpful
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Must possesses excellent oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and applicable health department regulations
  • Able to move at least 40 pounds
  • Able to stand on your feet for at least 8 hours
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be available on weekends
  • Seasonal job, April – December

Equipment, Machines and Software Used: This position requires the regular use of a cash register. Computer Software: Square (point of sale system)

Physical, Mental and Visual Demand:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand for long periods of time, walk, talk, hear, perform repetitive hand motion, finger, grasp, handle, feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, crawl, bend.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Light mental and visual attention is required for performing work where there is some variety but actions taken and decisions made are limited to a few possibilities. Work requires some coordination with others. Setting up, regulating, and adjusting simple machines or processes.
